Gary sings with piano accompaniment at London's newest jazz club "Osso". Osso Jazz is reminiscent of those wonderful supper clubs that used to be found in Soho, during the 50s and 60s. Gary sings with Kim Criswell and John Wilson conducts at the Sage in Gateshead for a concert celebrating the Gershwins in Hollywood.

Celebrated British conductor and arranger John Wilson will lead an all star tribute to the golden era of Hollywood film musicals. The show features the sumptuous sounds of a live 60 piece MGM Studio Orchestra, presenting the music in its original movie orchestrations and paying tribute to George Gershwin, Irving
Berlin, Cole Porter, Harry Warren, Jerome Kern and Richard Rodgers and the great Hollywood arrangers Conrad Salinger, Johnny Green and Nelson Riddle. Featuring some of Hollywood’s best loved music from the MGM musicals including HIGH SOCIETY, SINGIN’ IN THE RAIN, AN AMERICAN IN PARIS, ZIEGFELD FOLLIES, MEET ME IN ST LOUIS, IT’S ALWAYS FAIR WEATHER and

JOHN WILSON

As you may have noticed, Gary enjoys a close working relationship with the conductor and arranger John Wilson. John has invited Gary to sing with many of the presitigious orchestras he has conducted, including the Hallé, the Lahti Symphony, the Royal Scottish National, and the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic . A particular highlight was ‘That’s Entertainment’ with John's own 200 strong orchestra and choir at the Royal Festival Hall with Tim Flavin and Maria Ewing.

John Wilson has established an enviable reputation as a conductor, arranger and scholar and is recognised internationally as an expert in the specialist fields of light music and music for screen.

Born in Tyneside in 1972, John studied composition and conducting at the Royal College of Music, winning all the major conducting prizes and the coveted Tagore Gold Medal for the most outstanding student. He has conducted many leading British orchestras including the London Symphony, the Royal Philharmonic, the BBC Concert, the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic, the Royal Scottish National, the Halle, the Bournemouth Symphony, the BBC Scottish Symphony, the English Chamber, the English Sinfonia, the Royal Ballet Sinfonia and the Britten Sinfonia and recently made his Danish debut with the Aalborg Symphony. He has made numerous recordings, most notably a series of highly acclaimed CDs with the John Wilson Orchestra for Vocalion and two discs of the music of Eric Coates for ASV.

A prolific arranger, John Wilson has produced countless orchestrations for film, radio and television. In 2000 he orchestrated Sir Richard Rodney Bennett’s entire score for the BBC production of Gormenghast, which won the Ivor Novello Award for Best Film Score. He has recently orchestrated and conducted Howard Goodall’s score for the BBC film The Gathering Storm about the life of Winston Churchill. He enjoys a close working relationship with Sir Paul McCartney and has orchestrated several of his compositions.

He has restored a number of classic film scores and recently took on the enormous task of reconstructing the orchestrations of all the major MGM Musicals.

The Rat Pack Live From Las Vegas is a major production currently touring the USA and Europe. Gary took the role of Frank Sinatra performing at The Theatre Royal, Haymarket; The Strand and touring throughout Europe.
